This industry was built on the sales of pies , pasties ,cakes and drinks being sold to the buying public.
Unfortunately many stores have forgotten the correct way to sell and prepare these lines for sale.
Firstly your pie warmer has to be CLEAN , not semi clean but CLEAN , that includes the glass.
The CLEAN pie warmer placed on the counter in front of the customers eyes will sell more goods.
You need to place water in a dish in your pie warmer ( at the bottom ) to help keep the moisture level up.
Too many stores are currently using the microwave oven as the primary source of heating pies and pasties.
This is WRONG.
They will be soggy , and in some cases not heated properly and will not be served how the maker intended.
The microwave oven is the tool of LAST RESORT – plan your day and sales.
Think of it this way ,you can microwave a steak to cook it but it will not taste as well as cooking it the proper way.
You should turn your pie warmer on at the correct temperature as soon as you arrive at your store ,fill the warmer with what you will need for the next few hours and then keep filling throughout the day in line with sales and customer demand.
That means putting pies and pasties in before lunch not during or after lunch.
DO NOT reheat pies and pasties the next day – you should have either thrown them away or given to the last few customers that came in your store the night before.
- DISPLAY your pies and pasties so they look appealing to the customers , DON’T just throw them in.
- DISPLAY your cakes properly , neatly , so they will catch peoples eye.
- OFFER customers a cake with their pie or pastie purchase – “ Would you like a donut with your pie ?
CLEAN , FRESH AND WELL DISPLAYED pies pasties and cakes will increase your sales.
